Green Action Drinks/Get Together/Knees Up/Party/Good Time/etc...

This coming Thursday (18th of February) we'll be having a little tipple and a jolly good dance! Hurrah!

It'll be a great chance for members of Green Action to see everyone, especially those of you who've got shifts at the Co-Op, and even more so for those of you don't have shifts at all.

We'll be meeting at 7:30pm in Old Bar and then mooching on down to The Fenton where there's a "Dub, Funk, Roots, Dubstep" night being held by Grass Roots. Tickets are £2 before 10pm and £3 after.

Location:
Old Bar then Fenton

Co-op email list

This email group was set up for people interested in starting up their own Food Co-op, to show examples, answer questions, offer advice and support for setting up a food co-op.

Setting up a food co-op

There are loads of on-line resources.  These are really helpful.

Sustain has a draft consitiution, food hygine advice and draft documents.  It might sound daunting but this is the place to start.

People and planet are an umbrella student group.  They also mention co-ops but would be an ideal place to recruit members.

Making scrumptious new sounds, boppin beats and mellow musical tasty treats from all the veggies, pulses roots and shoots from your kitchen.

Yum!!

The idea was to make a vegetable orchestra for a fundraiser open mic night for Green Action at the begining of December, if youd like to have a go, I was thinking of having a wee session this sunday, my house. Come!

Greenaction Meeting Minutes

11th Nov 09

Thanks to everyone who came to this week’s meeting!

We talked about:

Leeds Film festival.

Some films that might tickle yer fancy..

Earth Days Friday 13th November 18:30, Carraigeworks off Millenium Square.

Green Action Seed Swap

If anyone has any seeds theyve collected or have spare knockin about Ive made a seed swapping box in the co-op,

Saving seeds is an excellent way of growing native plants that are suited and have adapted to our local climate and environment and I think will be important in the future when climates change and it becomes harder to transport food. I'd like to begin to set up a seed bank to collect and share seeds that we can sustainably grow ourselves without having to rely on outside inputs and most importantly is FREE!
