We are having workshop to make gifts practise songs for the upcoming spectacular that is Buy Nothing Day.  It is a chance to really engage with normal shoppers on a Saturday.

Buy Nothing Day 2009 is going to be brilliant.

The idea is to encourage people that instead of buying something for Christmas they could make something (see the alternative Christmas gifts for ideas).  There is so much advertising saying BUY THIS we thought that there should be some saying BUY NOTHING.

Last year we had Christmas Carols, a free shop, food and all for free in Briggate.  Lots of people interested in the concept and lots of cups of tea.  As they drank or ate we chatted to them and had a chance to put across views and ideas about capitalism that many hadn't heard before.

Royal Park School (t.b.c) at 5pm. 

Bring crafts, ideas, phone numbers.  Lets make banners and sort out food missions and publicise this.
