How to edit this site?

Simple, you can edit some things anonymously but to do most things it is best if you log in.  Then click 'Edit' in the top right of the page.  There is a WSYWIG editor that helps you edit the page but if you are a HTML-wizz then feel free to click on view source and edit in HTML.  Some simple things that you might want to do are:

Linking to other pages

To link to another page in this website simply type that pages name surrounded by two square brackets.  This creates a link with the same name as the page title, to rename the link to New Name:

[[Title | New Name]]

To link to an external site then use the 'Insert/Edit link' button on the editor. Or use the method above with the full url instead of the page title.

Creating new pages/calender events e.t.c.

To create a new page go to Create content You will have the option of creating a few types of new content:

  • Story
A normal page that allows people to add comments and is published to the home page. E.g. this page.

  • Event
    An event on the calender.

  • Image
    ...

  • Forum topic
Open-up a talking point on the forum.

  • Static page
Like a story but people can't add comments and it isn't published on the home page, e.g. About this website.

  • Book page
Like a story but it is part of a larger idea, e.g. Things Green Action or The+Green+Guide.

Adding files

Use the 'Insert/Edit image' button in the editor if you want to add an image and you can upload images to this site.  If you want to attach a document such as a Word Document (doc), Adobe Acrobat file (pdf) e.t.c.then uses the File attachments below.

Tagging pages or 'Vocabularies'

If you make a new page then please tage them with the correct categories in the Vocabularies section (or correct them if the page exits).  Also if there is a new category that you would like or want to edit an existing one then post a message on the [[http://www.greenactionleeds.org.uk/drupal-6.9/taxonomy/term/21 | forum]]

Other things

Please correct any mistakes.  Also it is helpful if you add a log message as to why you edited the page.  Add this in the HTML Source (not in the text editor) to create a table of contents for longer pages <!--tableofcontents-->.
