Green Action Specific:
Place: Botton Village, North Yorkshire Moors - a Camphill community that works with special needs adults.
Accommodation: We'll be camping out at the back of the valley (20 mins walk from village) next to a lake and in a forest. There is also an old Quaker's stone hut to stay in. There is a spring and compost toilet.
Activities: We can hang out there or you can have a chance to work in one of the workshops (Bakery, creamery, coffee bar, woordworkshop, seedworkshop) or on one of the 8 farms and gardens. It is in the North Yorkshire Moors NP and walks are a plenty. We also decided at the AGM that it'd be a good idea to find out 'WHO IS GREEN ACTION?'. A group will have prepared a session for this so we can start discussing it, the aim being to then firm it up just before term starts again and everyone can be refreshed and exited! This also means you're not forced to go on the trip if your interested in this question.
Food: The community grows alot of their own veg and from past experience have lost of leftovers they feed to the animals, so its almost definate we can get the veg for free. Amy and Aly are going to sort out all the other food.
Transport: There'll be a bikegang - its about 50-60 miles. Public transport would take about 3 hrs and cost £10 each way. Hitching is a possibility too.
Cost: Accomodation is free so only food and transport need to be paid for...food will probably ciost about £8 for the weekend (excluding booze)
