Tatting Leeds Festival for asylum seekers

Thousands of tonnes of good camping equipment, clothes and other materials are going to be dumped after Leeds Festival. We're planning to do something about it to help both the environment and those in desperate need of it. A new group SolAIDarity (well an off shoot of ATC and other groups) has formed to go to festivals and tat down stuff and redistribute
it to various good causes - in particular to the migrants in Calais.

New Leeds Social Centre

Hi,
A bunch of us are currently in the process of setting up an autonomous social centre in Leeds that we thought could be beneficial to your group. The plan is to buy a building that will provide free or very cheap meeting, workshop and creative spaces, a venue for socialising and to put on fundraisers, a cheap community cafe and some office space for supportive groups, alongside loads of other ideas in the pipeline.

Fundraising and politics.

At previous meetings we have agreed on what we would like: to own a building. This takes money so we need to fundraise, come with suggestions or enthusiasm (or both)
